This guy offer me a lot more than what I asked on Craigslist for my item. He sent me a fake PayPal confirmation payment to send my item to Nigeria and When I called PayPal Customer Service they told me They Don't have business in Nigeria. It's a Scammer. Be careful guys.

  10. HOLY *#^$! Thank you all who have posted this info. I was getting very close to "doing business" with a Barbara James at the shawndavid1119@gmail.com address! Whewwwww! I would have been out a $1,500 item! I have also just been receiving msgs from a frankylyman203@gmail.com who wanted me to pull my ad asap and he was going to send me a money order overnight shipping. He wanted my address and all now but I told him that I would not pass any info until I received confirmation from a PayPal payment ONLY and that IIIII received the confirmation from my own account, not a copy that he was presenting as proof! WATCH OUT EVERYONE, THE SHARKS ARE OUT THERE AND THEY'RE HUNGRY!!!!!

  11. One more hint for SCAMS that I have just become privy to...two contacts, coincidently, are both involved with charities at this time and are unable to meet or call in person because they are away from a phone or out of the country!!! What are the chances?! This is my first time EVER trying to sell something online...Ebay, Craigslist, etc...and I have been hit twice. And they are the ONLY two people to show interest also! BE VERY CAREFUL IF YOU'RE NOT EXPERIENCED! I feel very fortunate now!!

My general rule of thumb is to check the name of the sender to the e-mail address. If it doesn't makes sense, then it's probably a scam.

    Reply to ad on Craigslist....
    You gotta read it...(below)
Mrs Charley doesn’t seem to realize that we're talking about an 80ft boat weighing 55 tons. I guess she intends to Fedex it to her cousin as a birthday surprise. That sure would be a surprise if it turned up on her cousins doorstep. “Sign here please” Ha! Ha!
And “ I really need this” of course, everybody needs an 80ft boat.... like a hole in the head! Ha! Ha! Ha!
Oh! and its in Florida not California....
He/she really needs to read the ads more carefully...
    I'll send my information immediately...
    Ha! Ha! Ha! still laughing.

"Thanks for writing back...but I'm sorry I won't be able to come see it anymore, embarking on a 4 weeks radio therapy trip to CA tomorrow morning, was gonna be coming to your town that got changed but I still want it anyways, getting it for my cousin's upcoming birthday. If you could sell it to me when I get to CA, I will mail you a bank official check to cover the cost and
also add funds to cover the shipping to where it will be needed.I'll arrange for a shipper/mover to handle the pick up and delivery so it doesn't stress you. I really need this, quite important and urgent. I will be more than glad if it can be sold to me. Email me back with a name, address and your phone number for the check.
    write back soon.
    Thank you.

    Mrs Charley"
